Release 7 Enrollment Verification Cheat Sheet

Release 7 Enrollment Verification Cheat Sheet

Purpose: This document explains the impact of the new claims processing system, Benefits Manager, on enrollment verification methods. While some new students will have the addition of text and email as enrollment verification methods as early as January, most students will not experience a change. The matrix below helps School Certifying Officials understand the changes coming to enrollment verification and answer potential questions from students about which enrollment verification methods may be available to them. If a student is unsure which verification method to use, verifying their enrollment online through AskVA is an option available to all beneficiaries.

Background: Beginning February 3, 2025, Education Service (EDU) will begin claims processing in Benefits Manager. Initially, a controlled number of new non-33 claims will be processed in Benefits Manager and EDU will gradually increase the number of claims as system functionality increases. During this interim period, some claims for new non-33 beneficiaries may still be processed in the Benefits Delivery Network (BDN). Please see the Release 7 Impacts to Enrollment Manager Guide for more information.

Enrollment Verification Impacts: Once claims processing in Benefits Manager begins, the enrollment verification methods available to beneficiaries will depend on which system their claim is processed in, either the legacy BDN or Benefits Manager. The matrix below outlines these scenarios.

Using The Matrix: There is no system you can easily review to see if a student’s claim has been processed through BDN or Benefits Manager. When there is any doubt on how the student should submit their enrollment verification, please have the student verify through AskVA.
